First Presidency Christmas Devotional

I don't know if you know this, but I am a huge fan of Christmas. I am the type of person who turns on the Christmas music at midnight on Halloween. Seriously...it's like an obsession or something. I love Christmas.

Last night I got to go to the Christmas Devotional given by the first presidency. And, though I never thought it was possbile, I love Christmas even more. I realized why I love it so much anyway. Jesus Christ is truly the reason for the season. I am so blessed to know my Savior like I do!
President Uchtdorf brought up something I completely agree with. He discussed that he cannot think of Christmas and not think of light. Whether it be the modest candles that lit his home in Germany many Christmases ago or the many radiantly lit homes today, Christmas is light. It has such a symbolic message. CHRIST IS LIGHT! He is the Light of the World. He brings compassion, comfort, love, healing, hope, and forgiveness. These are all things I associate with Christmas as well as my Savior.
"As He gave to us, LET US GIVE TO HIM!" I love that. I truly believe that we need to take advantage this Christmas season. We can serve everyone around us. Be a little kinder. Give a smile. And rather than gifts of materialism, give the gift of Christ. Give His love, His comfort. "The Lamb of God is the greatest gift ever given."
As President Monson said, "There are souls to be saved. Is there not someone you can serve this season?"

We need to make time in our lives and room in our hearts for the Savior. I know I could always improve on this. I am filled with gratitude for the First Presidency. I love each of them. They are truly prophets of God. Their testimonies of Christ uplifted me and improved my own testimony. I love my Savior. I know He lives. I know His love in everlasting and ever so powerful. This season let us all give the gift of Christ!

That was a wonderful post. I too am grateful for the first presidency and all that they teach us. Christmas time is so much sweeter having the knowledge of Jesus Christ that we do! And you're right...sharing that is the best gift we can give to others.

Awesome. I'm sorry I missed the devotional. There is nothing like being in the same room with a prophet of God, let alone being able to hear from them. Thank you for your testimony. The world needs to hear it... have you thought lately about a mission? I know it wasn't right for you before, but you never know about the timing now...
