April's been a fun month for us! This past weekend was Record Store Day-Craig's favorite holiday. Craig and his podcast, Out of Our System, played video games at the Sandy Graywhale. Our good friend, Rob, played with some of his band mates at the Graywhale in West Jordan. We had a good time checking out all the nerds that camped out to get some great new releases.
My friend, Carla, invited me to a delicious appreciation lunch at my home away from home, This Is The Place, this past Thursday. Meier's Catering provided a plethora of foods for us. SO GOOD. Nana Nancy got us a membership this year, and Noah is going to take advantage! He loves the "hsh" (horses). He likes to ride on the ponies and pet the baby goats. His favorite part is definitely the train, though. "Choo choo" became the newest words in his vocabulary after Thursday's visit.
Some days have warmed up quite a bit, so on one of the warmer days Noah and I took advantage and spent the afternoon outside. I picked up some sidewalk chalk (they only had glitter filled chalk), and we had a good time coloring on the driveway! Noah LOVES outside. He knows how to open the big outside doors at the Knights. He's escaped a few times and almost made it to the street. YIKES. We've been dead bolting the doors ever since we discovered this, but there are still times that he attempts. He mostly escapes via the dog door now. Luckily, the dog run is fenced. Our little Houdini.
My darling "sissy," Emmy, bought her first home! I'm so proud of her! Noah and I went to check it out. It's in the cute Daybreak area, and it is so perfect for her! Noah liked all the running space. Congrats Emmy!
Our neighbors have a few sheep, and they all had their babies recently. We love taking Noah over to see them.
I try to go to the library at least every other week. It's been tough lately, but we do always have a good time at Toddlertime. (We miss Ethan and Carly!) Last time we went I let Noah pick out his books. Four out of six were books with cars, trucks, or tractors on the front. We might have a little boy. Just maybe. Haha
He loves to point out things in the books we read now and shout words, even if it's "car" over and over. Car is definitely his favorite word. Anything with wheels is "CAR, " though he attempts "truck" and "tractor" sometimes. Tractor and Cracker sound basically the same right now. He just babbles all the time now. It's so fun to hear a word we actually understand every now and again!
Noah has a best friend. She is taller than he is. She has the sweetest eyes. She also slobbers. A lot. Her name is Lily, and she's a boxer. That's right. Noah's best friend is a dog. They do everything together. Partners in crime. Where Noah is, there, too, is Lily and vice versa. Obviously, he wants to be a dog, too.
There we have it. A little look into our lives lately.
Come May we are going to get a lot more on our plates. Craig is taking an accelerated 3 week class instead of doing a class all summer long. I am taking a biology class with the accompanying lab, plus I will be taking a course to become a CNA. I'm taking a leap of faith and attempting to get into a nursing program! After much thought and divine intervention, I feel this is something that our family needs to have in its arsenal. I'm nervous/excited/anxious about it, but I want to get a degree and have a way to help my family financially, even if it's just for back up. Crossing fingers and praying that all will go as planned. (This never happens, but I am a planner. I have to have a plan!)
