This past week has been a little painful for Noah and I.
On Tuesday, Craig was playing with Noah. They had some cars on the treadmill, and Craig thought it would be fun to turn it on to the lowest speed so it would be like a real road. Unfortunately, as Noah was playing at the end of the belt, the track sucked Noah's left hand under. It kept running and gave him a really bad road rash. That evening his hand became very swollen, so I took him to the after hour Urgent Care. I was worried it was more severe than just the bad scrape. The doctor pressed on his hand to feel for brakes or anything like that. I've never heard Noah scream louder. I felt like an awful parent! Luckily, his hand is just deeply bruised. I was directed to keep it bandaged up for a week to prevent infection. He hates when we have to change the bandage, but it is already looking so much better. I'm grateful for Neosporin!
He was NOT a happy camper.
Noah has started to show an attachment to this little monkey. We better come up with a clever name for it if he's going to stay around.
On Friday, I had an apicoectomy. It's an oral surgery to fix a failed root canal. They cut your gums above the tooth, clean out any infection, cut the root end, fill the root, then cap it and sew you up. It was a very quick procedure lasting maybe 10 minutes. Today, the day after, I have some swelling and throbbing pain. I hate taking narcotics because they make me sleepy and not in control, but I have had to with the amount of pain I'm in. Hopefully tomorrow will be better! Oh the joy!
It's just been a week full of pain, but I am so glad we have Craig around to help us! He has been running errands and going on last minute grocery trips to get bandages and ice cream. He's basically the best husband and daddy around! That's the truth.
