October 2015

October!! What a fun month! It flew right by us, though, that is for sure.

We started the month out with General Conference. Sam slept over Friday night, and we had breakfast and watched the first session together on Saturday morning. I found a cute conference packet for the boys to color in during the session, and it actually kept their attention for about 40 minutes of it.
The Great Pumpkin (aka grandma Nancy) delivered his Halloween package to Noah. This child is spoiled, but we are always so grateful and use up everything grandparents give to us.
We got in a couple of visits to This Is The Place this month. We visited the giant Christmas bear in Cliff's office, and Noah said, "I want one of these, Mom!" Um, it's huge. Probably not, buddy.
We also got to go to Little Haunts with our cute friends Carla, Dylan and Harlee. We had fun seeing all the cute costumes and getting some candy from the homes.
I didn't get a ton of pictures of Noah in his Halloween costume, but I at least got this good one. About mid September Noah told me he wanted to be farmer Tony (our next door neighbor) for Halloween. I didn't think it would stick, but he was so sure that's what he wanted to be. I found the overalls at Target, and the rest of the costume we already had. He has chosen such easy costumes! I hope this is a trend that will continue over the years.
I got to see my dear friends, Tate and Reagan, dressed as Cinderella and Prince Charming. They are just so wonderful. I love them and miss seeing them 3 times a week.

We got to go up to Jessi's house at Hill Air Force Base and spend some time. Noah and Sam are so crazy when they get together, but I love them a lot!! And they really love each other a lot.

Noah has been frequently visiting the construction site of a HUGE house that is being built on our street. He loves to get dressed in his construction vest and wave at all the big truck drivers. If he didn't ask to go over (or just leave the house himself without telling me...YIKES) every single day, I'd think something was wrong with him. I love his deep love of construction. It continues to grow everyday. He knows so much about the equipment and the different vehicles involved.

The workers love having him as their personal little cheerleader. They let him sit in some of the equipment!!
We even bring lunch with us some days when we go watch.
The second weekend in October, I headed down to St George with Jessi to have a girl's weekend! It was so fun that Jessi, Heidi and I are all pregnant at the same time. Heidi and I are both expecting boys, and Jessi isn't finding out until the birth.
We went shopping, ate lots of yummy food, and watched movies. It was nice to not worry about our children for a couple of days and just spend time talking to each other. We ventured to a few furniture shops and some neat vintage stores. Then we went to see "Sister Act" at Tuacahn.

While I was in St George, the boys got to go to the "outside" BYU game. Noah was so incredibly excited because the BYU semi truck was there! He loves going to BYU sports game, and we are excited it's now basketball season!!

We had lunch with Miss Olivia in the month of October. She is such a cutie.
It stayed mighty warm throughout October. Noah took full advantage and played outside every single day. He loves to dig in the dirt for hours.
We got to do our favorite annual Cornbelly's trip with the Dials in October. We weren't there as long as we usually are, but we had such a fun time.

That night after Cornbelly's, Craig and I went to the BYU football game. It was the only football game I will probably get to this season, so I'm sure glad I got to go! This husband of mine sure loves his BYU sports.
Baby boy LD is growing like a weed. I feel huge, tired, and hungry, but we are so excited and so blessed to be getting to become parents of TWO boys. I am still trying to adjust to the idea of having a baby on top of Noah. My doctor has decided it might be best to induce me on December 14th, so there is an end in sight! Oddly, even though I'm still feel large, I have been so much smaller than I was when I was pregnant with Noah. I know this babe is much deeper towards my back and much higher. Noah was totally in my hips. (Just throwing down all those old wives' tales of gender because these pregnancies are pretty opposite.)

For Halloween this year, our ward's Young Women did a trunk or treat. Nancy wanted to decorate her car, so, because of Noah's surge of love for Nightmare Before Christmas, I suggested we use that as a theme. It turned out SO cute!! I was pretty excited about how amazing Craig is at painting. We had a great turnout, and it was honestly so much fun. I sure love our ward.

We also chose to paint one of our pumpkins teal for the Teal Pumpkin Project. By leaving a teal pumpkin on your doorstep, you let the trick-or-treaters know that you will be offering allergy free treats. We did little temporary tattoos for the nonfood choice this year. Noah picked out the pumpkin to paint and helped paint it.

If you recall, back in September my Escape's transmission died. Thankfully, Craig's dad let me borrow his Sequoia while he drove his "fast car" (as Noah calls it). During that month, we did our homework on new vehicles, test drove about every single crossover/SUV type vehicle there is, and ultimately we decided on this little beauty-a Subaru Outback. I was so surprised about the room of it, and Craig really loves it. We are happy with our choice and are so grateful to have a vehicle for me to drive. I applaud those families who only have one vehicle. With our school/work schedules and situation right now, it would have been very difficult without two cars. Noah loves his "new white car," even though he still asks me where our car (the Escape) is about 2-3 times a week.
I make it a priority to visit my grandparents at least once a month. I learn something new every time I go over there, and Noah just loves talking to grandpa great about trucks and things. In October, we went over and my grandpa was turning off his sprinklers for the winter. Of course, Noah got right in and helped shovel the dirt. I am so glad I quickly snapped a picture of them.
October is the month of Noah's birthday!! We did our annual balloons in his room while he was sleeping the night before his birthday. He woke up laughing. He got to open his gift from Craig and I, which was a book full of fun 5 minute stories to read at bedtime. His book collection is huge now, as you can see in this picture. I LOVE children's books, and I don't think he could ever have too many. I just am beginning to realize that we might need a bigger bookshelf one day for them all.

I got to visit his class for his special birthday spotlight. He didn't want me to leave after, but I did and he loved being at school that morning. All his cute school friends sang to him and asked him questions about his favorite things and such.
We got back this year's school pictures on his birthday. He is so grown up, and it makes me happy and sad all over. I love this little 4 year old with all of me. I can't imagine what it will be like to love another baby this much.

We had a very small get together for his birthday. We had pizza and cake and painted pumpkins. Noah asked for a digger cake, but I ran out of time to make one for him myself. So, we got a premaid cake and I placed some small construction vehicles on it. (They were new and clean; don't worry.)

We got to go work hopping for Halloween. First was grandma Sue's work. I'm sad we didn't take any pictures from there. Noah fell asleep in the car on the way there (that NEVER happens anymore), so he was pretty grumpy when we arrived. He was a little nervous of some of the rooms being so dark, but I thought it was fun to see how clever each department decorated their floor.

Next we went to Craig's work. We also didn't get any pictures there. It was mostly just trick or treating and saying hi to people Craig works with.

To finish off the work hopping, we went to Papa Doug's work. He dressed up like Trump, which I found rather funny.
Noah was really excited to be Farmer Tony at school, but the second he saw me arrive to watch his school's Halloween parade, he began to cry. He has been extra clingy, which makes me wonder if he has already begun to sense the change of having a new baby. He's still a really well behaved child, though, even though he has been pushing some buttons lately.

Noah told me I needed to dress up for Halloween, too, so I looked to Craig's closet for something that would fit my belly. I went with "Craig's favorite sport," which included an item from each of his favorite sports teams: a Mariners hat, a BYU temporary tattoo on my cheek, a Dodgers jersey, and Seahawks socks. Good thing all his favorite sports teams are blue so I at least sort of matched.
Noah ended the month with his 4 year old well child checkup. He still had his Farmer Tony mustache on, so I definitely had to take the opportunity to take a picture of him in a gown with the 'stache. Such a stud!!

Weight: 39.02 lbs 75%
Height: 40.55 in 57%

I don't understand how he is in the 75% for weight because he seems so thin to me. He keeps getting thinner looking the taller he gets, too! He's a healthy, growing boy. We are so glad he is ours!!!
