July 2015

JULY! Usually we have so much going on in July, and while we did a lot, I didn't take very many photos. I have been trying to be more present when I'm with Noah by myself, so that might explain why. I also have been working a bunch and got sick with pink eye and a sinus infection. Loads of fun....not.

We started out July redecorating our holiday tree. We used left over ribbon from last year's wreath and just kept it simple.
Canada Day was sure fun. We made some poutine for dinner. It wasn't as good as I remember it being, but it was still fun to learn a bit about Canada's culture and teach it to Noah.
We attempted to go to the drive-in theaters to see Inside Out, but Noah crashed on our way there. The line was huge, so we decided to just save the money and turn around. Craig and I watched a movie together after putting Noah in his bed that night.
Because the Fourth was on a Saturday, Craig got the Friday before off of work. We took the free day to try out the new Sandy splash pad. It is AWESOME. We've gone back numerous times since. Noah LOVES it. The baby bump appeared right around this week. It fluctuates throughout the day, so sometimes I feel huge and sometimes I feel like I barely have a bump.

Because the Fourth of July is Doug's birthday, we always have lots of fireworks and fun. Our cute neighbors joined us this year! Noah loves his papa.

This is my attire 3/7 days a week. I love my big hat this year because it keeps the sun off my head and face. The pioneer clothes definitely accentuate the baby bump. Must be all those layers.
Grandma Nancy did a little early school clothes shopping for Noah during the N Sale. These are Noah's two favorite items from the pile. Thank you, Nancy!!

My absolute favorite part of working at This Is The Place is working youth treks. We have a presentation of Hyrum and Joseph Smith at the beginning where Joseph tells firsthand the First Vision. It always moves me to tears, and I'm so grateful I can have a paying job where I get to bear testimony of the gospel. Youth programs are why I've worked here for 9 years now.
I was able to get out to one of my dear friend Rob's last concerts before he and his adorable wife Percie moved to Monument Valley. We also had a little going away party for them. I had pink eye so no pictures were thought to be taken, dang it. I sure love these two humans, and I hope we can get down to visit them before Baby LD gets here.
This picture describes how excited Noah is about going to church each week. He really struggles with the idea of having to sit still for 3 hours straight. I don't blame him. He is just such an active, always moving child. He is outside at least 50% of the day. Once we get there and he sits with his amazing Primary teachers, his mood improves. We just switched to having sacrament first today, so hopefully that will help him!
This is quite the creepy smile, but if there is one thing that makes Noah smile it would be pancakes. He has become quite the pro at making them. From scratch, too. This kid loves his pancakes.
I recently ordered a bunch of new books for Noah. He loves books, but even more he loves making up his own stories or adding to the story. I love how big his imagination is! He still is obsessed with anything that has an engine and moves, and construction vehicles are still his top choice of toy followed closely by trains. He has created some incredible routes with his wooden tracks. Our little engineer.
My coworkers are the greatest. We had a murder mystery dinner "bonding" party together, and it was pretty darn fun. I just love these people so much.

Noah loves when I read, but he goes to sleep with so much more ease when Craig does the bedtime routine. I'm sure Craig is sick of doing it so much, but Noah LOVES his Bones Story every night. Craig tells stories about the adventures of Bones and Noah, and he makes up a different one every night. It's so cute, and I really need to record one to remember it.
Music is such a huge part of my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is Abbie, and I just love her so. We have a lot of fun on the hill.
Baby LD is sucking all the energy and good nutrients from my body right now, so it didn't come as a shock when I got sick that I stayed sick for so long. I usually am not one to get sick and if I do, I'm better within 1-3 days. Between the pink eye spreading to both eyes and a sinus infection inducing a horrible cough, I was out for at least a week. I'm just finally feeling more energized and coughing less. Noah was a saint and oh so patient with me when I needed to just stay in bed. Lots of Mickey was watched.
Pioneer Day wasn't as celebrated this year for us because of my illnesses, but we did get outside to do a few parachutes and sparklers.
The other day Noah played outside with Lily in the sprinklers. He ended up stripping down to his unders, and I just let him dry off that way. Before I knew it, he was doing his business in the bushes. OOPS.

We got to sing for Elder Neil Anderson and his wife for the Sons of the Utah Pioneers celebration night. I still had no voice, but I lip-synced the night away. It was pretty fun to have an all girl cast that night with our ballgowns.
We've hit the halfway point, people! This pregnancy is just zooming by. With Katie's wedding next week, school starting in two weeks, then the holiday rush including all our birthdays, December 19th will be here before we know it!! I am really excited for fall to begin. I think it will be easier to dress my changing body, plus I've just always loved the cooler weather.
I will say, we will miss hanging around outside on the playset and taking walks in the evening with Lily and Hudson.
One more picture from July, even though it technically was August 1st, is from my mom's house. She got a new Razor toy, so she called to have Noah come over to try it out. He loved it! Such a fun time.

August is FULL of adventures, so get ready for a large post next month! We are excited for all the new beginnings coming our way!!
