Growing Boy

Mr. Noah is now 4 months old. To some, that seems still so young, but I cannot believe I am the mother of a 4 month old baby. I'm still adjusting to the fact that I am a mother as it is. I love this boy more and more every hour, every minute, and I am SO lucky to have him as my son.

Most of this post will be pictures. I skipped month 3, so these pictures are from then, too. This post is mostly for grandparents and family who we don't see that often. They want to be able to see Noah, too! Enjoy!
3/4 MONTHS
A lot of the pictures I take are on my phone, so the quality probably isn't the best. You can still see his cuteness in them, though!

Noah is a stander. Standing is all he wants to do. It makes him seem older to me. He likes to cuddle when he is tired, but if he's awake he wants to stand. I keep thinking maybe he'll just skip the crawling stage and go straight to walking because he loves to stand so much.
With our friend Jack, Heidi's oldest son.
Noah laughs like it's nobody's business. He laughs at such "guy" things. Craig will make farting noises or throw up noises (gross, I know), and Noah will bust into laughter every time. He is a boy.
Baby nails are so sharp! I clip his little nails every other day, and he stills manages to claw himself. Such great battle wounds, little buddy.

Noah still loves sleeping on Papa Doug.

Noah is starting to play a ton in the bath. We are having to bath him every other day or so now. I don't think I have ever met a baby that blows out his diaper more than my baby. We've tried almost every brand of diaper, too, so I know it isn't a diaper malfunction. All of his white onesies are stained, regardless of my efforts to bleach, Shout, and wash them multiple times. (Anyone have any good stain fighting tips? Feel free to comment.) Noah has inherited my dry skin, unfortunately. He is getting dry patches in the most random of places. We just started using a heavy duty healing lotion for him.

He is getting really good at sitting up, while being supported of course. His neck strength has become great! After his 4 month well check yesterday, we have concluded we will be starting some solids really soon. I have mixed feelings about starting with rice cereal. I have been reading too much about it, I think. I will just follow my pediatrician's advice.

Noah finally likes tummy time. He will grab at his toys and bring them straight to his mouth. He will leave a drool puddle wherever he goes. I think he might be in the beginning stages of teething, but I doubt a tooth will break any time soon. If we have him do tummy time on the bed with us, he will roll over. In fact, he rolls over if he's ever on a surface that he can fall now. (This makes me slightly nervous, especially with my ever so attentive husband playing a video game. Hear the sarcasm? Hope so.)

He has recently, well increasingly, become a thumb sucker. He will grab his binkie, throw it, then pop that thumb (or sometimes the whole hand) in his mouth.

Let's talk hair. I've mentioned it in previous posts, but boy Noah's hair turns heads every where we go with him. It is getting so much lighter than it was at birth. It has thinned slightly, but where it hasn't thinned, it has gotten SO long. My child has a mullet, people. Will I cut it? No. I love it too much. He has the best bed head, ever!

Noah is still such a content baby, but since my going back to work a few days a week, he has gotten fussy at night. It breaks my heart. When he cries now, tears, real tears, fall. And he is such a pro at the pouty lip. This kid will get whatever he wants if he keeps this up.

Craig's parents have two dogs-a chihuahua named Hudson and a boxer named Lily. Lily is a clumsy big dog, and she does what we call "Drive by lickings" to Noah, soaking his face with her slobber. That's her extent of loving on the baby. Hudson, on the other hand, is OBSESSED with Noah. He wants to be right next to him, all the time. He kisses his mouth (gross); he growls when someone walks by or tries to take Noah. I can't wait until the day Noah just grabs Hudson to bring him in for a hug. Even though little dogs aren't my favorite, the Hudson/Noah relationship is pretty cute in my book.
Hudson ready to jump Noah with his kisses.
At Noah's 2 month well check, he was pretty chunky. He stills has the cutest baby rolls. I love a chubby baby. At his 4 month check, he was across the board 50th percentile making him 100% average. I guess we'll see if starting some solids will change that come his 6 month check up. Here are his 4 month stats:
Weight: 14.99 lbs (54 %)
Height: 25 in. (55 %)
Head: 16.7 in. (58 %)
Craig watched Star Wars with Noah for the first time. Craig, my sweet husband, cried. (HAHAHA) As soon as "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." came on, Craig was teary eyed. It was such a precious moment for him, I guess. He compared it to a dad taking his son fishing for the first time. Noah has a ton of Star Wars toys. He loves sucking on this R2-D2.

Nothing like a sleeping baby.

I love being this boy's mommy! It is definitely the best job EVER.

When my baby gets stains I immediately wash them out with soap and warm to hot water. I use Lever 2000 bar soap or Soft Soap handsoap. Lever 2000 is really good though. Anyway, usually that gets the stains right out. Depending on how bad they are you might have to wash for a couple of minutes. Then I put Shout Advanced (specifically for set-in stains) and they come out! Good luck.
Noah is adorable. I love the story of the dogs licking him. haha
