I Think We Have An Emergency

So...my life...my luck...I just don't understand.

Saturday afternoon around 4 my vision became blurry. It was like I had my contacts out even though they were in. Dr Savia had prescribed me Topamax. This medication has the risk of glaucoma, a very serious eye disease that leaves you blind. He told me if I had any kind of eye problems to get a hold of him immediately. I was at work hostessing a wedding by the time I got a hold of him. (It was a Saturday, so it took forever to finally get a direct cell phone for him.) He told me I needed to go to the ER and get my eye pressure checked.

I went. The pressure was elevated which isn't good, but it wasn't too bad. The ER doctor said I will follow up with an Ophthalmologist, eye doctor, on Monday. I leave the ER around 12:30am.

Nick insisted I slept at his house that night. Good thing I did. I woke up looking like this:

My vision had gotten 10 times worse and my eyes were swollen. Really swollen. I could barely open them. I started freaking out. I didn't want to go blind!! I have way too much to see still. So we go back to the ER. After another eye pressure test and a CT scan of my eyes, they say that I should just take Benadryll and keep ice on my face the rest of the day. I would still have a follow up with the eye doctor. This is what I looked like by the time we left the ER:
Still swollen and so so painful. I got home about 1:00pm. I kept ice on it all day, took the benadryll, and slept a lot. My grandpa came over and gave me a blessing, which I enjoyed very much. I love my grandpa. He is a great person.

So I went to bed, still swollen and in a lot of pain.

I woke up today still with pain, but I don't look like I am a 45 year old smoker.

I will see the Ophthalmologist today at 1:00. My vision is almost back to normal, which is what I'm most grateful for. I love to see.
Like the beautiful lilies I get to have in my wedding.

Or the cute rolls on the legs of my children someday.

Or when the leaves start to change in the fall.

I am so grateful for my eyes, for my sight. I wouldn't know what to do without it.

P.S.
You need to talk to my sister- in- law Becky Shober. She has the same thing you do and I believe she is in your ward. We were so scared when these things were happening to her. We love you and want you to have the greatest things this life has to offer.
